The "Parametric 3D" module is a module that can be easily integrated with the TETRASERVICE 3D engine. This module is quite useful for optimising 3D drawing management in the case of similar and/or standard components

The basic concept is very simple: why waste tens if not hundreds of MB for managing a large number of similar components and taking on the problems linked to managing such a large quantity of 3D models, when it is possible to manage them with only one model and a connected table that defines its dimensional information?

Thanks to this module all components can be made parametric. Whether or not you choose to use this technology depends on the number of similar components requiring parameterisation and the initial start-up time. The greater the number of similar components, the greater will be the gain in terms of generation time of all the components following the first one.

An example of how TETRASERVICE uses the "Parametric 3D" module are the epicyclic reduction gears series REP manufactured by TRAMEC. Thanks to expert product analyses and resource rationalisation carried out by our technicians together with those of TRAMEC, all the information regarding each single component of the entire series of products is contained in one Microsoft Excel spread sheet smaller than 50 KB, while the basic 3D models have been reduced to 7. We wish to underline that the configurations obtainable in this case, with our basic system, exceed 300,000 (tree-hundred thousand)!

Owing to its typology, the series of above-mentioned reduction gears is an optimum product type for making the best use of the "Parametric 3D " module's capacity. The fact remains, however, that a considerable margin of parameterisation can be applied and used in almost every field of 3D modelling.
